Things are going just fine. Some new songs have been written, the lyrics are currently in development and with Richard it is working out fine.

We found a new vocalist! Richard Noordzij (Her Enchanment, Eria d'Or) has joined the Stench. His vocal capabilities are amazing and a great addition!

1 - December - 2007

The news songs are slowly evolving but they are piece-by-piece very interesting. Bad news is the departure of Niels 'The Klomp' Klompen as our frontman. So now we are looking for a new lead vocalist!!!!

8 - June - 2007

Right now we're busy with making some new metal. Besides Hans, Pol Ramaer (ex. Conquestador) has joined the Stench. We will have to increase rehearsal dates right after the SanderDude gets married with his chick. Also we would like to thank Maurice Brouwers for helping us out with the recording sessions and the few times we trashed live.

25 - February - 2007

We have started rehearsel for the new record. It's working out just fine with 'the Hensel' (Hans). The new record will probably be somewhat different then Retrospect; in a good sense.

1 - October - 2006

We are going to be joined by guitar player Hans Ensinck. Together with him we will start the new 'creative process' by next month.
Hans is a very skilled, progressive metal influenced, guitar player. This promises promises a lot for the future.

Also: Earplugged.NL online store will be distributing 'Retrospect' soon.

24 - July - 2006

Stench of Death is continuing as a 'studio band'. Unfortunately it turned out that the replacement for Ron (Nick) was not living up to expectations. This has some advantages, the freedom to make music which is too complicated (for us) to play live.

23 - June - 2006

- Paul and Frank from the local radio show "Creepshow" invited us to join them on radio. We wanted to thank you guys! When available we will place the interview online.

17 - June - 2006

- We are checking out a new gitarist as a replacement for Ron: Nick Grossfeld. Seems promising.
- The gig at the azijnfabriek went pretty well.

A lot o' news:
- We have received a very fine review from Aardschok Magazine (Dutch).
- To our grief one of the founding members of SofD, Ron, decided to quit the stench. June the 16th will he will do a last gig with us.
- .... we're looking for a new guitarist (or two)

Yesterday we had our first gig in years and it went
pretty well. Thanks everyone for visiting!

2 - Oct- 2005
Still reviews are coming in, all very positive (except
for one...zwaremetalen.com). About 12 distributors and/or agencies have been
sent a demo and now we really hope for a distribution deal.

The reactions from the magazines turn out to far more
positive than we'd ever expected. Now the distribution deal...

Yess!!! After the usual doubt we've got a very positive
review at the Brutalism EZine!

28 - Jun - 2005
Fourteen CD's have been sent to various review magazines
in The Netherlands, Germany, USA and the UK. And we're very anxious to find
out what they think of our shit.

26 - May - 2005
We have received the CD's and they just look unbelievable
beautifull. The gig at the 27th had to be cancelled because there was no
soundengineer available.

1 - April - 2005
The production files are finally ready! The making of the artwork took somewhat more time as expected as did the CD itself
too. At this very moment the production files are being transferred to the reproduction facillity.

19 - February - 2005
Retrospect has been remastered. There were some flaws
in this cd (also the samples), especially in Atland. The sound of the previous
master was greatly dependant on the hifi set you were playing it on. Hans
spent a lot of time remastering it and we are (again) very pleased with the
results. Also pictures have been taken for the artwork. This was done in
the woods near Roggel (Limburg, Netherlands)

21 - Januari - 2005
The mastering has been completed. And we are fucking
proud of the results. Thanks to the efforts made by Maurice and Niels who
had almost no time for rehearsals, Hans for singing and producing Retrospect. Ron
and Niels are making the new logo's and artwork and then it will be up to
the reviewers I guess.

31- December - 2004
Yesterday, at two o'clock in the night, the first complete
Stench of Death album was born within the CD burner of the PITStudio.
This is a premastering recording for us to check all details. On Monday Maurice
did a great job play'in the bass for all songs in just one evening.

20 - December - 2004
Wednesday were continuing with the recordings of the
vocals from the last three songs. Then next monday Maurice will start the
bass recordings.

11 - December - 2004
Hans has ended up in the hospital. Apperently he has
lost too much blood after he had surgery (That's metal!). Anyway we can't
go on recording now.

5 - December - 2004
Next thursday the first basslines will be recorded and
saturday the vocals for three songs will done. Unfortunately we have done
not much for two weeks now due to the time schedule of the PitStudio. I'm
excited to continue thursday. Hell yeah.

27 - November - 2004
At this moment Maurice is practicing his basslines,
which are very promising. Drums, guitars, synths and most vocals have been
recorded. Probably we'll finish withing a week or three.

13 - November - 2004
This recording stuff is going pretty well. At this moment
all guitar lines, and drums have been recorded. For six songs all keyboard
loops are finished and Niels has begun thrashing yesterday. Tomorrow Maurice
Brouwers from Engine of Pain, Angels Decay and Triple7 will get together
with Ron to figure out the bass lines.

30 - October - 2004
We have begun working at The PitStudio. Yesterday the
drums were installed and today we're gonna try recording some metalworks.
Pictures will be placed on this site under the MultiMedia section.

12 - October - 2004
With only two weeks to go till the recording, all is
working out pretty ok. Most of the lyrics have been finished and are
written to an historical concept.

28 - August- 2004
Last week Niels paid us a visit and suprised us with
a forcefull brutal grunt. So I guess the recording sessions still stand.

21 - August- 2004
Just before the recording session, Roel had to quit
SOfD. We are currently looking how to get the work done without him.

12 - June- 2004
We have finally made an appointment with the PITstudio.
We'll start recording our first full length album at the end of October.
Producer and Engineer will be Hans Reinders, the former lead-singer of the
notorious dutch metal band Speedica.

23 - May - 2004
Roger had to quit because of personal time demanding
reasons. It has been decided to fill in the vocals ourselvers. An appointment
with the PIT Studio has been made to check out their possibilities. We will
try to make an appointment for recording next year january.

27 - Mar - 2004
Roger 'Bitchass' Berger turns out to be a promising
lead vocalist (!?!). Very old-school style grunt voice which forms a neat
combination with the screams of Roel. It will take a lot of practise before
we can go to the studio's (problably without bass player). But in the
meantime some new kick-ass songs are being made.

Bassplayer Tobias has already left the band, he did
this by just not showing up anymore. What a loser...

17 - Jan - 2004
And now we found a vocalist also ....

11- Jan - 2004
We found a bass player, Tobias, and are also expecting
a singer try-out soon. It has been decided to go to a professional recording
studio for the CD. At this moment we'll have to work in the bass player,
so it may take a while...

21 - December - 2003
Well, again some changes, the bass player decided to
play the guitar to fill the music a little more and it turned out right.
It gives another heavier dimension to the metal which is of course always
a good thing. Only the mixing stays behind, it's really hell to master this.

30 - November - 2003
We recorded two songs again to check the new sound.
And yes it will finally stay that way! So now will just record every song
again.

14 - November - 2003
Our guitar player bought a new preamp and we bought
a bigger harddrive for the recording machine. The first was definitely needed
for a true metal sound! And now we should be able to go ahead rerecording
everything!

4 - October - 2003
A new website has been made, fuck Frontpage. Also i'm
againnnnnn remastering some songs before we will record the remaining six
songs and intro/outro's.

18 - September - 2003
All songs recorded so far have been remastered again
(some for the third time) and sound really impressive, at least to me. The
lyrics for six songs are to be written the next weeks and months.. 

31 - August - 2003
Again five(!) other songs have been recorded in one
session. The lyrics are being written at this moment (I hope). The sound
quality improved a little bit due another microphone positioning. 

27 - July - 2003
Well two songs have been recorded and mastered now which
has been a lot of work. Their names are: Avaricious & The cold lake of
Death. From now on we'll try to record every week one or two songs.

25 - June - 2003
We're now rehearsing at the Bosuil in Weert and this
sounds nice! Every instument has an improved sound quality now. We recorded
the first four songs for the CD finally and the raw material is far more
better than ever before. So! Wait and receive ...

18 - May - 2003
We checked out a rehearsal room on a farm also but that
was too creepy, there were a kind of twilight zone farmers walking around
there and we really got scared. The room wasn't good anyway. I added some
more pics to the photo album section so go look there if you want to.

11 - May - 2003
We found a new rehearsal room in Weert, this should
probably give a better sound during the recording sessions. In the old room
we suffered from reverb effects during recording, due to the building structure.
Also we increased the sound level of the song located in "The Pit" section.

23 - March - 2003
Well tomorrow i'm getting the new recording PC, so we'll
probably start recording for real next week.And what happens with that material
is uncertain yet, we will try to get a deal with a distributer company or
something...

28 - February - 2003
Roel added three tracks of amazing vocals to a song
which was formerly called 'number 2' . This demo song is now officialy named "The
forest of Suicide. Many thanks to : Dante Alighieri (RIP 1321)<br>

23 - February - 2003
A demo song has been recorded with the eight track digital
recorder, it is placed in the vacancy section. Due too a recording PC which
is far too slow, we had to record it at 44.1KHz, 16 bit, and even then some
glitches can be heard. A new PC will be bought soon, so we can increase the
recording performance to 96KHz 24 bit.&nbsp;

30 - December- 2002
Well, so far no good. We couldn't find any singers which
were dedicated enough, but we are still waiting for Aardschok magazine to
appear in the bookstores. If this doesn't work out we will probaly do the
work ourselves. We got a digital eight track recording device and soon we
will start recording our song material (which is over an hour of metal now).

26 - October- 2002
At this stage Stench has the choice over two singers,
but we want to wait for the next month release of the Aardschok magazine,
in which we have placed an Advertisement. The keyboard player is now rehearsing
with a beautiful violist player, we think this can work out, but if it does
we'll have to see.<br>

04 - October- 2002
Due to some differences of opinion with our lead singer,
he has decided to leave the Stench. So we are looking for a new singer and
the first gig is already cancelled.<br>

02 - October- 2002
Well as life goes on, the gig at the vagant will not
take place on the 11th of October. We love the management in this bar...
Anyways they have offered us, to play one week later, but we will have to
discuss this with the whole band. And I updated the site again.

22 - September- 2002
Finally we have confirmation for the Vagant. So the
first Stench gig will go on, together with a couple of guys from Tilburg.
Well I'll guess were going to trash the door out.

Gig for cafe de Vagant still not certain. We
hope to play there though...
